Gerry, EPE have hardly anything footage wise.

Most of it is in the hands of private collectors or the compnaies vaults that shot the film.

EPE have Aloha, 68 special and CBS along with the March 60 Graceland interview and a few other shot clips from various years including some of the home movies.

That's correct Gerry, CBS Indy 77 for example.

I didn't mean none of it, I meant hardly any of it when I said hardly any of it.

Sorry for the confusion.

EPE do have access to a lot of other footage. They are prepared to lease the footage from the owners rather than buy it outright as this is a cheaper option for them, but, I believe we'll have to wait until 2007 before we see much of this.

I don't mind waiting so long as we see it, it's the possibility of never seeing it at all the worries me.

Why do you say we will have to wait until 2007 Steve? What happens then?

The alledged EPE Elvis Anthology project is supposed to be released. in 2007 to mark 30 years since Elvis passed away.

This has been bubbling in the background for some time and I'm not sure if the recent EPE sellout to Sillerman will have any effect on this still going ahead.

Hi Christian,

That's an impressive list.Shocked I really think that there is still at least that much unreleased pro footage. I find it very hard to believe that they didn't film any concerts professionally between the Aloha and the CBS TV special. Have you seen any of that lost pro footage yourself? Like that Memphis show in 1974 (March 20th?). I think it would be fantastic if that show really exists in professionally filmed quality. It's definitely one of my favorite concerts. Cool

PostSubject: The Unseen Footage   Tue 7 Mar - 18:59

Hi All.

Amazing, isn't it? Is there any other artist in the musicfield that roughly 30 years after passing away still "rocks the craddle" in this way? Mind blowing to even try to imagine to one day see the various pro-shot footage of this list, that apparantly does exist! And yes, the Memphis footage would be my favorite aswell!!
Look at the footage that has surfaced recently, the EOT and TTWII footage, all those miles of film! It just blows me away to see E do Love Me with a Bra on his head. It has been out there for 30 years without being noticed! They could do 3 more remakes of TTWII and each and every one of it would be worth it.
If you realise the hundreds of cities Elvis played in during the 70's, if you realise the system of local networks the USA has, coverage by not just one of these but more....put 1 and 1 together and I'm convinced of the fact that the mentioned list shall be longer. It might not be full concerts, it might be just snippets of this and that, but hey, let's be honoust....anything goes. I'm sure there's more out "there". tongue
Let's realise what we're talking about: a few decades after Elvis died, the most fantastic footage starts to surface, who would have believed way back in 1981 that Jos would be able to actually see the Bra on Elvis' head, that he would see TTWII-SE, the EOT-rehearsals and backstage films, the NBC outtakes of which he dreamt but had no money for back then, the CBS concerts...and so on! Many of the most respected Elvisfans, hardtimers who actually saw The Man in person many, many times have since passed away WITHOUT being able to see these images of "The Man Behind The Image". cheers
So, let's be thankfull with all we got and be vigilant for all that's out there and stuill to come. As far as the audio is concerned the bottom of the pit is in sight if I get it right, let's look forward to the video part of the legacy...as Elvis Himselvis once said: "if you milk this thing long enough....". It will come out. Then again, my personal biggest fear is indeed - I agree with one of the other persons - that it will come out too late, I just hope they'll get it out before my time is over!!! salut

Greetings to you all from Holland,

lol!

Jos.

I made the avatar for Christian.

I'm surprised EOT is mentioned, however you guys must have some supporting photos or stills that suggest this, I for one have never seen any and would love it if you would post some of Elvis wearing the red circa EOT filming at any point.

The clip is a short piece of footage I have on my PC which someone sent me a while back, I cannot say for sure what it relates to.

Well, I'm sure the avatar is from rehearsals for Elvis On Tour (Standing Room Only), march 1972. Part of it is available on "This Is Elvis" (WB, 1981), when he was singing "Always On My Mind".
About the pro-shot concerts, sometimes small TV networks get rid of clips or got lost in their vaults or whatever... that's why some of them will never appear, because they didn't new the historical importance of them back then... It's sad Rolling Eyes

Jimmy, you think I should have my eyes looked at ? Laughing

If you look at the date i posted the bit you quoted you wil see it was long before the recent out takes came on the market. I was joking about their origins as we didn't want the world and his wife bombarding us with where they could get the footage, or Turner making polite enquiries What a Face

Sorry...but that footage isn't from July 31, 1969. Besides, that night was by "invitation only" IIRC.
