Shown on video in slow-motion this 10 to 12 second clip was stretched to 35 seconds.
I prefer it in the slo-mo version, but I've duplicated this followed by a version in a more normal speed.

While doing research for my book "The Atomic Powered Singer" I came across a notice in Graceland Express referring to this footage saying that after Elvis´ initial appearance on the Ed Sullivan show Elvis went on a short trip to Catalina Island outside Los Angeles in the Pacific Ocean. This would indicate that the footage is from September 1956.

I just went through a couple of old old VHS-tapes and on "More Home Movies of Elvis" we are treated to no less than 60 seconds of footage from this day in the sun. Most of the footage is different to the one posted here but alas in a very bad quality. However some of the footage posted here is NOT on the VHS-tape.

I know I have more of this footage somewhere else but will have to go through a lot of VHS-tapes to find it.

Anybody out there with more footage from this day?

By the way, the "More Home Movies of Elvis" VHS-tape has a lot of great and very rare footage of Elvis from the 1950´s. Alas, in bad quality, but enjoyable, none the less
